Carplaylux Is Built to Be Usable by Everyone, Including Customers Using Assistive Technology
This statement explains how carplaylux.com is designed against recognised accessibility standards, what is already in place, what we are still improving, and how to reach us directly if any part of the site, checkout, or a product page is difficult for you to use.

Accessibility Is Part of How We Build Carplaylux, Not an Afterthought
Carplaylux is the trading name of Batterijen.net (registration number 82259844, VAT NL003661115B65), a registered Netherlands business selling CarPlay and Android Auto systems, OEM and OEM-style lighting, and vehicle electronics across thirteen European countries. Many of our customers browse detailed technical specifications, vehicle-fitment tables, and installation notes before purchasing, so a website that is genuinely usable by people with visual, auditory, motor, or cognitive disabilities is central to how we operate, not a checkbox we complete once and forget.
We work toward conformance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA, the internationally recognised benchmark referenced by the EU's harmonised accessibility standard, EN 301 549, and by the European Accessibility Act (Directive (EU) 2019/882).
What You Will Find Below
This page sets out our current conformance status, the accessibility features already built into the store, the areas we are actively working to improve, how we test with assistive technology, how to request help or report a barrier, and the accessibility authority responsible for enforcement in each of the thirteen countries we ship to.
We describe our accessibility work honestly, including the parts that are still in progress. If any statement on this page turns out to be inaccurate for a specific page or feature, please tell us using the contact details further down so we can correct it.
Where Carplaylux Stands Today
We describe our conformance using the same terminology used across EU accessibility statements, so you can see exactly what "partially conformant" means for our store rather than an unqualified compliance claim.
Not Yet Fully AA, and We Say So
carplaylux.com is partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 Level AA. "Partially conformant" means some parts of the content do not yet fully meet every success criterion, most commonly on older product images, some embedded third-party widgets, and certain PDF specification sheets. We list the known gaps in the "Known Limitations" section below rather than presenting unverified full compliance.
WCAG 2.1 AA / EN 301 549
Our target is full conformance with WCAG 2.1 Level AA, the technical benchmark incorporated into EN 301 549, the EU's harmonised standard for digital accessibility referenced by the European Accessibility Act.
European Accessibility Act
The European Accessibility Act (Directive (EU) 2019/882) was adopted in 2019, transposed into the national law of every EU member state by 28 June 2022, and has applied to consumer-facing e-commerce services, including ours, since it became enforceable on 28 June 2025.
What Works Today
These features are live across carplaylux.com now, including on this page.
- Keyboard NavigationEvery menu, filter, product option, and checkout field can be reached and operated using only a keyboard, with a visible focus outline shown on the element currently selected.
- Descriptive Alt Text on Product ImagesProduct photography, including CarPlay units, headlight assemblies, and LED kits, includes descriptive alternative text so screen-reader users understand what is shown, not just that an image exists.
- Semantic Headings & LandmarksPages use properly nested headings and semantic HTML regions, so screen-reader users can jump directly to the section they need — such as vehicle compatibility or installation notes — instead of reading a page top to bottom.
- Resizable, Reflowable TextText can be resized up to 200% using standard browser zoom without loss of content or function, and layouts reflow for narrow screens and screen magnifiers.
- Colour ContrastText and interface colours are chosen to meet WCAG AA contrast ratios (4.5:1 for normal text, 3:1 for large text and UI components) against their backgrounds.
- Reduced-Motion SupportEvery animated element on our policy pages, including this one, checks for your operating system's "reduce motion" setting and disables scroll animation, pulsing, and moving graphics automatically when it is turned on.
Where We Still Have Work to Do
Being transparent about gaps is more useful to you than an unqualified compliance claim. Here is what we are actively working through, in order of priority.
Legacy Product PDFs
Some older installation guides and wiring diagrams were published as scanned PDFs before our current accessibility process was in place, and are not yet fully screen-reader accessible. We are re-issuing these as tagged, accessible PDFs on a rolling basis.
Third-Party Checkout Widgets
Certain payment and delivery-estimate widgets embedded at checkout, such as Klarna and carrier tracking, are built and hosted by their respective providers, and their accessibility is outside our direct control. We choose partners who publish their own accessibility commitments where available.
User-Generated Product Reviews
Customer-submitted reviews and photos may occasionally lack alternative text if the customer did not provide a description. We are introducing a prompt asking reviewers to describe any images they upload.
Video Content
Installation and product-demo videos are being updated to include captions and, where practical, audio description. Not all videos currently published have full captioning.

We test carplaylux.com against a representative set of browsers and assistive technologies rather than a single combination, since real customers use many different setups.

Our Response Commitment
We aim to acknowledge accessibility feedback within 1 business day and to provide a substantive response, including a fix timeline where applicable, within 10 business days of your report.
Where to Escalate, Market by Market
If you are not satisfied with our response to an accessibility complaint, EU law gives you the right to escalate to the accessibility enforcement authority in your own country. All thirteen countries we serve transposed the European Accessibility Act (Directive (EU) 2019/882) into national law by the 28 June 2022 deadline, and have enforced it since it became applicable on 28 June 2025. Enforcement approach and penalty structure vary by country; the bodies below are your first point of escalation.

How This Site Is Built
Carplaylux relies on semantic HTML5, WAI-ARIA roles and attributes where native HTML semantics are not sufficient, and CSS for presentation, so that content remains understandable when styles or scripts fail to load. Interactive components follow the WAI-ARIA Authoring Practices for expected keyboard behaviour.
